Layali Zaman is a Arabic concept restaurant situated at Le Meridien Hotel in Garhoud. Its beautifully decorated brightly lit shimmery entrance gives you a glimpse into the Oriental experience that awaits.
I absolutely loved the bright ceiling draping and Bedouin Arabic sofas providing a relaxed area where you can indulge in some shisha after your meal.
Friendly staff greeted us at the entrance and showed us to our table. The restaurant is massive and chandelier lit with plenty neatly stacked wooden chairs and tables.
Traditional date, peach and various other juices are on display to quench that thirst.
The buffet offered predominately Arabic salads and starters, mains and desserts. There was also some Indian and Italian cuisine on display.
The bread and cheese station was divine.
The buffet had a variety of delicious spreads enough to satisfy your every whim. The baba ghanoush was amazing.
What stood out for me though was the fresh succulent lamb mandi served in giant pots, it was moist spiced just perfectly with generous amounts of lamb. The mandi really stole my attention, so much so that I had two servings. The lamb kofta, grilled lamb was also delicious.
Dessert was an array of arabic sweets, ice cream, cakes, a beautiful colourful tower with tantalizing macaroons.
A chocolate fountain also stands tall tempting everyone that passes by. I felt like a kid in a candy store with all these options, where would I start?
Overall amazing arabic food offering great value for money, if you are a meat lover, look no further. I loved the variety that is offered here. I really couldn’t relate to the negative reviews of this place. Oh plus the masala chai here is just to die for. The chefs and staff were friendly and attentive. Would I eat here again, the answer is a loud yeah!
