Nothing short of splendid is the view from Thiptara situated in the opulence of the Palace in Down Town Dubai. I absolutely loved the colorful chic Bhudda statues that welcome you as you enter. The restaurant is surrounded by azure waters and fountains that embody tranquility, with the majestic Burj Khalifa offering a lovely backdrop.
They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. There was music blaring in the background which matched the energetic gathering.
The decor is very bold characterized by dark wood tables with beautiful oriental lights inducing a truly unpretentious jovial environment for our Zomato HypnoThai brunch meetup. Does the food match the surrounds? Well lets find out shall we. Come eat with me!
The brunch is buffet style however the staff served at us at our tables, which was nice. They seemed a tad understaffed but this understandable. Its supposed to be a brunch, people are meant to self service, so I will cut them some slack! There is an option to wander around and explore the myriad spreads of cuisine and fill your plates to your hearts content. Naturally I explored and found many many delicious gems.
I am very fond of Thai food, mainly because their cuisine is far from boring, I love the variety of spices, herbs sweet and sour fusions that make this cuisine bold and very cheeky.
I had the coconut chicken coconut soup which had a chilly kick toned down very nicely with the coconut milk.
We had a variety of chicken satays, spring rolls and fish cakes which were absolutely full of flavour and not in the least bit oily.
The lobster and prawn curry was served in a pan. This was my favourite dish of the day the prawns were cooked to tender perfection and the aromatic spices really infused culminating into mouth watering bliss. Delicious!
The Thai green curry was light yet very tasty, green curry can get a little too rich and creamy but tujis was a perfect dish.
Dessert was special, for me the sticky mango rice was beautifully presented and tasted as good, if not better than it looked.
Best sticky mango rice I have had in a while. The chocolate mousse cakes were perfection fro all you chocolate enthusiasts their cheese cake was also a hit among the foodies. The dessert was heavenly all around.
I had the Sangria to drink and it really blew me away, in a really good way. I also had the mandarine juice which was thirst quenching and oh so refreshing!
Headed off to FAI which is their shisha lounge concept. Great place to let loose and try some shisha with their innovative shisha designs. With a view like that, and a chang beer in my hand,I would never leave.
Brunches offer so much all at once that it can get a little overwhelming because of the seemingly many choices-first world problems! The brunch at Thiptara was beyond what I expected, the quality of the food is excellent and the service friendly but could have improved upon a little. This place is perfect plus has such a gorgeous views. Its great for that romantic dinner or even a business lunch if you want to impress someone. Excellent work guys keep it up.
