This quaint restaurant is situated on the busy Queen Street in Kengsington. I have heard really good things about the food here and was finally glad to try it out. The restaurant is simply decorated and offers downstairs and upstairs seating. Upon entering we could smell delicious pastries baking and people chit chatting in portuguese. We went up to have a better view.
We got to our table and it hadn’t been cleaned up from the people before us. Slightly disappointing. To drink we ordered two smoothies.
The strawberry and mixed berry, both were delicious.
The menu is quite extensive so I had difficulties on settling on what to have. I opted for the prego roll, which came with fried beef cubes with salad and chips. There was nothing special about the meal it was ok, I felt the beef was a little bland. The fries amazing. The sauce was good though.
My friend ordered the steak which came with an egg, her steak was beautifully well done and spicy way better than my beef cubes. There was a chilli sauce that they use as a condiment, this was absolutely delicious.
Overall the service was good a bit on the slow side, this is odd considering it wasn’t that busy. The prices are reasonable and portions generous.
I would probably go back but with a Portuguese friend who can help me select a delicious meal. I think this place has great potential though, just pay attention to the service and cleanliness.
