Papachinos offers just the solution for a restaurant for parents who are looking to enjoy their meals in peace while their children play lol. Just kidding, but on a more serious note, Papachinos is such a breath of fresh air. If you want a family friendly restaurant which offers a wide ranging menu to cater for all palates then this is the right place. I have been to the original branch in Fourways but this time I went to the Boksburg branch.
Getting to Papachinos without there being a waiting list is near impossible, that’s how busy they get. We got there around midday on a Sunday. Families aplenty spending time with their loved ones whilst enjoying sumptuous meals and kids playing in the spacious playgrounds.
Papachinos is vibrant and bustling, with Italian motifs spread out throughout the restaurant you are bound to be transported to Italy by the huge pizza ovens, police cars, warplanes and other memorabilia.
Leaving any form of exaggeration out, I had the most deliriously delicious frozen margarita here, in fact I had three, that’s how good they were. If I could stop my review here I would. The margaritas were an impeccable mix with just the right amount of tequila. Brava to the liquid chef.
I had a taste of the strawberry daiquiri which was ok but with all the bias in the world, it paled in comparison to my beloved Margerita.
To the food:
The Steak Royale is one of their signature dishes, it consists of sliced prime steak with roasted peppers brie and onion marmalade and sautéed mushroom on a bed of wild rocket. The steak was not only huge in portion size but juicy and well-seasoned, the onion marmalade gave a nice tanginess to the dish balancing and toning the pepper down. The brie provided a chewy texture and was delicate pairing which I quite enjoyed. Delicious meal altogether.
The Tostino pizza consisted of chicken, bacon mayo crumbled feta sundried tomatos and feta. Simply Mama Mia
The La Nona pizza was you usual chicken mushroom pizza, which tasted delicious, the chicken pieces were generous and well cooked.
The la Baretta was filled with ham salami bacon opinions and peppadews.
The really cool thing they have is pizza making sessions for the kids, where kids have a chance to play with their food and create awesome pizzas in all shapes.
What I appreciated about their food is that fresh quality fresh ingredients are used which is evident in each bite. Highly recommended place. Service was a bit slow but good.
