Leopolds of London is situated on the busy and energetic beach stretch on JBR. I have always heard really good things about this place and was so excited to try it out.
We actually arrived and seated ourselves as no one had noticed us enter. We had to flag down a waiter for service. This made me feel a little apprehensive. We found a friendly, knowledgeable but slightly nervous waiter who took our order.
We ordered the Watermelon Juice, Breakfast Booster (Pineapple, orange, sago pearls and strawberries)
Power Up (Red Grapes, pineapples kale and alfafa)
and the Berry Couture (Layer of berries mixed orange juice and lemonade slush).
Being a lover of slushes I expected the drink to have a slushy smooth texture, instead half my drink consisted of ice, which meant only about half the drink was actual juice, it was really hard to drink and got diluted and washed down at the end due to the ice melting. Really wasn’t impressed with my mocktail.
The breakfast Booster, which I had a taste of was pretty delicious and refreshing. The watermelon juice, although fresh tasting, was a little watery.
For starters we ordered the bread and dip, which consisted of bread with hummus, baba ghanoush and beetroot tahini dips. The bread was really fresh and the beetroot tahini with pomegranate was delicious.
We ordered the following:
Black Angus Burger: The burger I found average, the patty was a bit dry and bland. The fries were pretty tasty and not in the least oily.
The Sumac rubbed salmon fillet served with fennel radish, mint and feta salad was good, I liked the pairing of the mint and feta. The salmon was tasty but also I found it a little dry.
The Harissa grilled chicken on a bed of nut cous cous, pomegranate and mint yogurt and harissa mayonnaise was the dish of the day. The chicken was scrumptious, tender well flavored and succulent. This was the perfect dish and I wish I had ordered it. The presentation of all the food was really impressive overall.
The service was prompt and the waiter attentive despite the busy crowd. I really enjoyed the ambiance but the food was a little disappointing for me and not so great value for money in my books.
