Texas Roadhouse occupies prime location, just a few meters from the iconic Dubai Fountains. We were a little dismayed at the long queue for a table, however, I had been waiting a while to try out this steakhouse and 40 minutes waiting time was not about to stop me. Glass half full approach- long queues are usually an indication that something good is cooking in the kitchen. Half way through our wait, a phone call from the hostess informed us our table was ready. Yee Ha!
Texas Road House prides itself in being a restaurant that caters for the entire family offering quality steaks at great prices. What I like about this place is that they make everything from scratch, from their USDA approved hand cut steaks, delicious freshly baked bread rolls and sides. Knowing the food is made with TLC and fresh ingredients heightens the whole dining experience.
The atmosphere was buzzing, lively and chatter filled the air. The Roadhouse offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is characterized by Texas style wooden furniture, paintings, neon signs, animal trophy mounts, a juke box dim lighting which creates an intimate comfortable vibe.
They feature the various selections of prime steak cuts on display.
We were shown to our both and immediately provided with two tin buckets, one brimming with shelled peanuts, the other empty to place all the shells. The peanuts are enough to keep your hunger at bay and your mouth plenty occupied while you wait.
Whilst gorging on the peanuts, a freshly warm basket of bread accompanied by cinnamon butter arrives. The peanuts obviously forgotten. The cinnamon butter melts on the soft bread effortlessly creating a sweet infusion and melt in your mouth sensation. Can I get a Yum!!
Smoked hot Buffalo wings served with celery and blue cheese: The wings tasted succulent, juicy and really hot, in a good way of course. It wasn’t an unbearable hot. I really enjoyed the wings that tasted marinated to the bone. Howdy finger licking goodness!
Short Rib half portion that came with seasoned rice and steamed vegetables. The short ribs was slow cooked to tender perfection and my knife glided like butter through the meat. It was simply delicious. I had my meal with seasoned rice and steamed vegetables, which tasted fresh not frozen. It was such a nutritious, hearty, homely and satisfying meal.
You can choose from various sides such as steak fries, coleslaw, mashed potato, baked potato, salad, buttered corn, honey glazed carrots or vegetables. I like the variety of sides that’s offered. However, they didn’t have mash potatoes which I really wanted to accompany my dish.
Beef Steak Tips, which comprises beef strips, sautéed mushroom and onions in a delicious hearty delicious rich brown gravy that tastes like momma’s cooking.
With a side of the House salad with grated jack cheese egg and croutons and a delicious Caesar dressing. It could have been a meal on its own. It was huge and so flavorful.
To wash down, I had their signature virgin margarita served in a huge glass. I choose the lime flavored margarita which captured the perfect balance of sweet, tangy and refreshing. Howdy invigorating thirst quencher!
If you are not a steak lover, don’t be sad, they offer chicken and seafood options, so everyone wins. I was too full to try their famous chocolate brownie but as sure as day, I will be back!
This place offers a hog killing time and is ideal for all occasions, you don’t have to pay through your nose for a decent steak as it offers value for money and portions are generous so make sure you come hungry and saddle up to take your taste buds on a journey Yee Haa! We paid a total of AED198. Not bad at all!
The staff were friendly, efficient and looked like they were enjoying their jobs and having fun. It was comforting being served by knowledgeable, professional staff who offer great advice.
Apparently the staff occasionally boot scoot and being an avid fan of line dance myself, I was secretly wishing they had performed but I guess they were just too busy!
Just a suggestion…A once a month cowboy themed night would be a great idea for this place. If a patron comes in dressed up in a cowboy outfit, they get a free margarita or dessert. I think this would be a real hit.
Overall a really great Roadhouse experience!
