I had heard of the incredible sister duo that are the brains behind this quaint bakery and was delighted when I got invited to a cake tasting session by Sugaholic. We were greeted by a very cheerful Sneha (one of the sisters) who walked us through the cakes we would be tasting.
One thing I really liked was the personal touch in the décor, its evident that this place is fuelled on a lot of love and passion. Decorated in bright fun happy yellows, pinks and greens, you cant help but feel giddy carefree and happy inside. I loved the giant swing as you enter.
And for the cakes…
Vanilla Butterscotch Cake with a walnut on top. I found the vanilla cake soft, fluffy, light and spongy. The cream between the layers was a perfectly balanced sweetness. I found the butterscotch sauce a tad too sweet for me though, however, the walnut gives it a bit of nice balanced crunch.
Nutella Cake Again this was a light chocolate cake however I think it could have been a bit moist. As a lover of all things chocolate I found this really tasty overall I loved the chocolate ganache poured over the cake which offered a highly decadent taste.
Red Velvet Cupcake. Hands down the best Red Velvet I have had to date. So moist and fresh. The cream cheese frosting is what made it taste extra special. I found it light yet creamy. I loved that it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet.
Pistachio Rose Cake decorated with a delicious macaroon. At first it tasted a bit familiar, like some oriental flavored sweet I have had before. It may have been the pistachio. I have never had rose cake before so this was a really delicious love at first bite moment for me. I loved how the rose mascarpone frosting and cream complemented the pistscashio bits. Very fragrant and dense cake. I absolutely loved the interesting fusion.
Last but not least we had the
Nutella cheese cake decorated with a cute oreo biscuit . I was really torn for a favorite and this cake confused me more. I found the cake simply rich and creamy and the base slightly salty with a divine crunch to it. The cake tasted more like a mousse to me and I relished each bite.
Overall I highly enjoyed the dessert offerings that we were presented with. The great thing about this place is that their cakes are made fresh and with quality ingredients plus a little bit of love to make them extra yum. It was a really fun and interactive session. Thank you and I wish you guys all the best. Keep those yummy bakes coming 🙂 . I definitely will be back. Just as a disclaimer: My views are no way influenced or biased but reflect 100% my true opinions on Sugarholic’s bakes.
