Dating and mating and things

Call me old fashioned, conservative or prissy and I will embrace it any day. When it comes to dating, I’m not apologetic about the things I like and don’t like. I cannot claim to be an avid dater but I have noticed that the dating scene has evolved quite drastically. For instance take technology as an example, never has connecting with people been as easy as a click of a button. It is ridiculous how getting a date can be as easy as calling for a cab.

Some would think this would be a perfect solution for the socially inept and the shy people of the world. In as much as that might make shy people a tad braver, it does not really help when it is time to face the music and meet up. I for one, would rather meet people while grocery shopping, at a coffee shop or while taking a walk. I like human connections and also, I am very intuitive so when I meet someone, I can really gauge them from their mannerisms, expressions, I can tell whether they are genuine or not, doing this is much harder online. Do not get me wrong I have nothing against online dating and social media apps and platforms but I feel people can really create illusions as to who they really are.

Truth is you can be whoever you want to be online. I highly doubt the caliber of people one meets on line, I have tried online dating and boy after two days I promised to never go on one ever again but that is a topic for another day. I really think because getting a date is so easy this tends to make men lazy and not even try to be chivalrous anymore.

Ok so let us say I meet some someone and progress to date stage, there are just some things that I expect on a first date and things that make me cringe and not even bother thinking about a second date. These are actually scenarios that either I or my friends have experienced firsthand so these are not thumb suckings 

1: Guys who show up late

2:Guys who don’t even bother to put in effort in appearance

3: Guys who don’t even flinch when the bill comes or even offer to pay for the meal

4: Guys who don’t display simple gestures like opening doors (it’s the little things)man-opening-door-woman-shocked

5: Guys that turn their heads at every skirt that walks past

6: Guys that talk solely about themselves the whole time

7: Guys who are on their phone but still trying to maintain a conversation with you. RUDEman-texting-while-on-date

8: Guys who are rude/impolite to waiters, staff or valet

9: Guys who tip like misers or worse don’t even don’t tip at all

10: Guys who try and kiss on the first date

6813187b7930daa46ce3f3e1dff741b2Those are just some of the things I have come to dislike during first dates. Look, I think there are good men out there. I refuse to believe they are all married off or simply do not exist anymore. I just wish men could pull up their socks and do better and stop perpetuating the mentality that chivalry is dead. Girls are simple, its really those little things that count and make a girl feel special.
